Bahij Aban

 Bahij Aban is a bold sans-serif font designed to make a bold statement with slightly irregular and filled letterforms. Developed by Maryam Kahvand, Hans Eduard Meyer, and Dr. Abdul Hamid Osmani Bahij at Bahij Virtual Academy in Kabul, Afghanistan, this font displays a unique composition inspired by elements of Naskh and Nastaliq scripts. Released in July 2013, the font offers 843 characters and 1217 glyphs, making it versatile for various typographic needs. With a strong stroke and constant thickness throughout, the typeface offers a bold and impactful appearance, ideal for short textual blocks. Its high legibility on screens makes it suitable for applications such as creative posters, book covers, branding for children’s products, T-shirt designs, and more.

Given its look and feel, this font’s irregular yet formal look is coupled with the slanted and monospaced letters, giving it a distinct personality. The soft corners and thin, sharp edges evoke the craftsmanship of traditional calligraphy done with a Qalam. Despite its boldness, Bahij Aban maintains a sense of elegance and sophistication.
