Basheer, designed by Syed Manzar Hasan Zaidi of Axis Softmedia Pvt. Ltd. since 2008 in Mumbai, India, presents a modern Urdu font style. With 445 characters and symbols, it’s compatible with Urdu, Arabic, Latin, Persian, and more languages. Inspired by the Naskh and the Ruqaa script, Basheer offers a contemporary twist with its wide, filled letters and dynamic thickness. Characterized by its thick and less decorative nature, it is best suited for short texts due to its thick appearance, which may hinder readability over longer passages.
However, its high legibility ensures clarity even in brief excerpts. The font’s impactful and changing strokes contribute to its dynamic appearance.
