Ebtekar is a modern, bold Latin-based font family offering versatility with its various styles and weights. It is designed by font designer Arman Khorramak, who is a member of the Iranian Graphic Designers Society (IGDS) from Tehran, Iran. This family has two different styles, and each style has two variations. One style has filled letterforms, whereas the other one has thick boundaries and a sleek line in the middle. And the difference between 2 similar variations is the shape of its terminals. One of the variations has wide and straight-cut ends, whereas the other one has slightly curved and slanted ends. The names of its four styles are as follows:
- Ebtekar Regular
- Ebtekar 2
- Ebtekar Inline
- Ebtekar Inline 2
Released on March 19, 2019, Ebtekar features 408 characters and 380 glyphs, supporting a range of languages including Latin, Greek, and English. It covers numerous Unicode blocks such as Basic Latin, Latin-1 Supplement, Latin Extended-A and B, Spacing Modifier Letters, Combining Diacritical Marks, Latin Extended Additional, General Punctuation, Currency Symbols, Letterlike Symbols, Arrows, Mathematical Operators, and Geometric Shapes. The font is characterized by its thick letterform with even thickness throughout and a monospaced design that ensures even spacing and alignment. Its solid strokes contribute to its high readability, even in smaller sizes, as it lacks extra decorations. However, its bold appearance makes it more suitable for short text. Ideal applications include branding, logo design, tech-related posts, headings and titles, and sign-boards.
