Jameel Noori Nastaleeq Kasheeda is a variant of Jameel Noori Nastaleeq font family which was the originally designed and released by Ahmad Jameel Mirza under the trademark of Monotype in 1981. It was the one of the earliest Nastali’q calligraphy typeface and has the honor of being the very first and only OpenType Font with Kasheeda. Kashida, also known as Tatweel, is a way to justify text in languages that use scripts like Arabic and Urdu. Unlike English, where spaces between words are adjusted to align the text, Kashida works by extending specific characters. Noori Nastaleeq Kasheeda has an extensive charset of 380, comprising letters, symbols, punctuations, and more. Also, the font provides a massive glyph count of 19671, offering enough versatility across different languages and design applications. The font presents a Qalam writing style with beautifully designed bold letters and long Kasheedas. This adds a unique sensual touch to its modern yet classical appeal, making it one of the most desirable fonts for Urdu writing all across the world.
