Unikurd Jino

Bold - Naskh -

Unikurd Jino, crafted by Bardaqani, Ardawan, and Azad and released by the Kurd It Group on October 26, 2012, is a bold Kurdish font that displays a distinctive aesthetic with its condensed letterforms, rounded corners, and pointy edges. Drawing inspiration from the Arabic script, it includes elements of Divani and Kufic styles, giving it a unique geometric and decorative touch that sets it apart from other fonts. With 358 characters and 339 glyphs, it offers extensive language support, including Arabic, Latin, Urdu, Kurdish, and more, making it suitable for diverse typographic needs.

While Unikurd Jino offers high legibility, especially at larger sizes, its bold and condensed nature may pose challenges for reading at smaller sizes. The font’s thick and changing thickness, strong strokes, and delicate ends contribute to its bold and impactful appearance. Despite being monospaced, the stuffed letters make it challenging to read, particularly for prolonged periods. Moreover, this font finds applications in various design projects, including branding, creative posters, logos, Quran writing, invitations, gift cards, and more, where its bold and decorative aesthetics can make a striking statement. However, due to its bold nature, it is best suited for short texts rather than lengthy passages.
