Amiri Quran

Curve - Naskh -

Amiri Quran, released on February 12, 2018, by Font.org, is a classical Arabic typeface designed by Sebastian Kosch and Khaled Hosny, inspired by the Naskh style for typesetting books and running text. Its design pays homage to the early 20th-century typeface pioneered by Bulaq Press in Cairo, also known as Amiria Press. With 171 characters and 1,343 glyphs, the typeface supports various languages across several platforms. Considering its wide language support, it is compatible with Arabic, Latin, Urdu, and many more, ensuring versatility in various design applications. Its moderate thickness reminds us of the flow of a Qalam pen. With dynamic yet impactful strokes, its formal appearance and readability increase further, even at smaller sizes.

Despite being limited to one weight, its monospaced spacing, gentle blunt curves, slightly slanted edges, and sharp terminals contribute to its elegant outlook. Amiri Quran is best suited for long textual blocks, making it ideal for calligraphy, Islamic texts, formal documents, and branding projects. Its Unicode blocks encompass Basic Latin, Latin-1 Supplement, Combining Diacritical Marks, Arabic, Arabic Extended-A, General Punctuation, Geometric Shapes, and Arabic Presentation Forms-A, ensuring comprehensive language support and compatibility across digital platforms.
