Tadashi

Tadashi is a modern Latin typeface perfectly displaying the classical Japanese scripting style. It was designed and manufactured by font designers Hakim and Rozi and released under the trademark of twinletter ™. The font is based on the traditional Japanese “Kanji” style, which was originally adopted from Chinese script in 1946. Each letter is carefully designed to maintain the authenticity of its origin. It is a geometric font with a compact baseline. The font can be easily recognized with its unique appearance, as each letter has marks and dashes intersecting in the middle. This gives the font a real feel of Kanji scripting, although its English.

Tadashi can be characterized by its normal weight and thick letterform that maintains even thickness throughout. It supports multiple languages, including Latin, English, and Greek, making it ideal for multilingual projects. The typeface covers several Unicode blocks such as Basic Latin, Latin-1 Supplement, Latin Extended-A, Spacing Modifier Letters, General Punctuation, and Currency Symbols. It has a monospaced design, ensuring even spacing and alignment. Its sharp corners, geometric appearance, and wide, slanted edges and terminals give it a modern look. Each letter has multiple vertices, adding to its contemporary appeal. The solid strokes ensure high readability, even in smaller sizes, as it lacks extra decorations. However, with only one weight, its practicality in design projects is somewhat limited. This style is suitable for branding Japanese products, tech-related posts, and signboards.
