AlQalam Irzan

AlQalam Irzan is an open-source Urdu font that is based on the Ruq’ah script. The strokes of the font are clean and constant, making sure that the text stays readable even at small font sizes or on low-resolution monitors. The font displays a classic Urdu calligraphy style with few decorative elements. The serifs at the ends of letter strokes are not just sharp points, but gracefully extend and swirl, adding a touch of elegance and visual interest. The letters are balanced and equally spaced and there is a thin double line under the letters with sharp edges and rounded dots. It has a character set of 219 letters and a glyph count of 334 with support for Latin, Arabic, and Urdu. Because of the font’s flexibility, it can be easily used in digital media such as websites, social media graphics, and digital presentations. Moreover, it is compatible with several Unicode blocks including Basic Latin, General Punctuation, Currency Symbols, Mathematical Operators, Geometric Shapes, and Arabic Presentation Forms-A among others.
