Cairo is a modern sans-serif multilingual font family licensed and released in 2017. Mohamed Gaber, a Cairo-based Egyptian type designer, directed this project. Mohamed Gaber adapted the Latin typeface family Titillum Web to accommodate the Arabic alphabet, using a design inspired by the Kufi calligraphy style. Compatible with the latest Unicode Standards, it consists of 101 characters and 100 glyphs. It is now available in 8 different font weights to compensate for various design needs.

Cairo combines traditional and modern preferences, using broad open counters and small ascenders and descenders to reduce length while preserving simple readability. Overall, it has a geometric appearance, the letters are mono-spaced, lacking any extra decorations. The thickness of the letters is also constant giving it a clean look and feel. The lesser weights can be utilized for body text, but the heavier weights are ideal for headlines and display fonts. However, it may not be suitable for projects requiring a strong calligraphic feel. The Arabic component has a large glyph set covering Arabic, Farsi, and Urdu.
