GE East Urdu is developed by a Pakistani typographer and calligrapher, Ishtiaq Ali Attari Qadri, from Faisalabad, Pakistan. It is a modern and bold Urdu font and was released on January 30, 2016. Displaying a geometric aesthetic with its filled and wide letters, this font draws inspiration from the Naskh script, evident in its horizontal emphasis. It supports various languages, including Arabic, Latin, Greek, and Urdu, catering to diverse typographic needs. Its font-weight remains consistent, registering as "regular," although its bold nature makes it more suitable for short texts rather than prolonged reading sessions. Moreover, with 444 characters and 497 glyphs, the font tends to fit in seamlessly in different design applications.
