Mitra Font Family

Mitra is an Arabic/Urdu font family that displays a beautiful calligraphic design. It was created by Tim Holloway and is available on various trusted platforms. It is a property of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, leased exclusively through Linotype GmbH. The font family contains 2 styles or weights, increasing its diversity. The typefaces contain Latin glyphs (from Optima Medium and Optima Bold, respectively), allowing a single font to set text in most Western European and Arabic languages. The two Mitra typefaces include both the Basic Latin character set (Western CP 1252 Latin 1/ANSI and Macintosh US Roman) and the Arabic character set (CP 1256), which covers Arabic, Persian, and Urdu. They comprise tabular and proportional Arabic, Persian, and Urdu numerals, as well as a collection of tabular European (Latin) numerals. Its weights are as follows:

  1. Mitra Bold
  2. Mitra Light

Considering its design elements, the font offers a formal appearance, which is inspired by the Naskh calligraphy. Letters are well aligned and made to look like the Qalam writing style. Letters of Mitra are spacious, meaning the text offers high readability, whatever font size you choose. The font offers a large character set of 625 letters and symbols with 601 glyphs. It supports a wide range of languages, including Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Latin, and many others. Moreover, it offers solid strokes with varying letter thickness, giving it an appealing look. You can use it to make elegant-looking documents, presentations, websites, and even branding.
