The XB Titre is a freestyle and filled Arabic font family designed by Behnam and licensed in 2007. Irmug’s trademark XB Titre is released under the SIL Open Font License. This font was originally designed for Mac OS X font technology and has been completely rebuilt and expanded to support Arabic, Persian, Uyghur, Urdu, Dari, Kurdish, Pashto, old Turkish (Ottoman), new Turkish (Roman)and Uzbek, using Microsoft Open Type (OT) technology for TrueType format and Apple Advanced Typography (AAT) technology. The font has a large character set of 980 letters and special symbols with 869 glyphs and support with Arabic, Latin, and Greek. Moreover, it comes in different styles, including:
- XB Titre Regular
- XB Titre Italic
- XB Titre Shadow Reaular
Design elements in the font include thick strokes, sharp geometric letterforms, minimal serifs, connected letters, and unique diacritics. The strokes vary in thickness, emphasizing a bold style. Clear cuts and angles give a modern aesthetic and triangular serifs add further sophistication. Moreover, subtle connections between letters enhance its flow even more. Due to its handwritten irregular nature, it is more of a design font than a publishing one. Therefore, it can be used for making posters, banners, book covers, and more.
