XM Traffic

XM Traffic is a handwritten TrueType Arabic font family that is based on the Naskh script. It was designed by Behnam and was officially released in October 2017. It was further enhanced and upgraded for Mac OS X. Fonts now support a range of languages including support Arabic, Persian, Uyghur, Urdu, Dari, Kurdish, Pashto, old Turkish (Ottoman), new Turkish (Roman), and more as part of this big release. OpenType technology has also been integrated allowing them to be used on Windows and Linux. Additionally, kerning has been introduced to improve the display of the text in Arabic script. It has a vast character set of 981, including letters, punctuations, and symbols with a glyph count of 869. It comes in 4 different weights and styles, including:

  1. XM Traffic Bold
  2. XM Traffic Regular
  3. XM Traffic Italic
  4. XM Traffic Bold Italic

XM Traffic can also be regarded as a Qalam writing font. The thickness of strokes varies significantly within each letter, adding visual interest. Letters have clear cuts and angles, reflecting the modern and geometric aesthetic. The spaces within letters are large and open, enhancing readability and preventing the font from appearing heavy. The combination of bold features, geometric elements, and serifs makes the font suitable for various design needs, from branding and marketing to editorial design and web interfaces, as long as a formal and impactful tone is desired. Moreover, with its four different weights, it is subjected to different uses, from plain body text to attractive headers and more.
