Mothanna Font Family

Mothanna is an open-source Arabic font licensed under the SIL-Open Font License 2008. It was developed by Arabeyes.org as part of the Khotot project, developed by Khaled Hosny. It is a diverse font with deep roots in traditional Arabic calligraphy, lending its essence from Naskh style. And if you look carefully, you will also find traces of traditional Thulu’th calligraphy. It contains 244 characters with 368 glyphs, making it compatible with various languages, including Arabic, Latin, Persian, Urdu, and more. Mothanna is an elegant and sophisticated font that comes in 4 different weights, increasing its usability. These include:

2. Mothanna Oblique

Delving into the design aspects of this unique font, the regular styles (Regular and Bold) are straight on line. However, the oblique styles are italic, slightly tilted toward left. The other composition of the letterform is the same, which is monospaces, constant thickness, wide, soft corners with rounded and elongated terminals.
