Scheherazade New Font Family

Scheherazade New is a classic Naskh typeface, is compatible with all Unicode 15.0 Arabic script characters. The typeface was updated in May 2022 and now encompasses a larger glyph set of 1772 glyphs and a generous character set of 774. It is a trademark of SIL and is licensed under Open Font License (OFL). Inspired by classic designs like Monotype Naskh, Scheherazade New can be used with all Unicode Arabic characters. The design factors are similar to that of its predecessor; the only thing that changed is its glyph count and the addition of 2 more weights. It now has 4 weights in total, with the addition of Medium and Semi-Bold included in the April 2023 update. Its weights include:

The name of the font comes from the main character from the beloved Arabian Nights story. It captures the spirit of the Arabic language with its symmetrical flowing letters, soft corners, and beautiful proportions. Its extensive character set contains all of the necessary Urdu letters, symbols, punctuation marks, and digits. This Arabic font is an elegant Arabic digital typeface perfect for writing longer texts as well as making eye-catching headings.
