Kamva

Rating
5/5

Kamva is a chalk-writing Arabic font designed by Atiyeh Kamjo, an Arabic font designer. It is a trademark of Fontiran and was licensed in 2016. This font shows a childlike liveliness with its uneven strokes and rounded edges, resembling chalk scribbles on a rough surface. This unusual font with its untidy strokes gives your text a natural hand-written feel. This uneven hollow font consists of 352 characters and 270 glyphs making it a multipurpose typeface with a variety of uses like creating creative content, making posters specifically play cards, and also in children’s books and cover pages to attract the younger audience. The characters are not entirely filled leaving empty spaces like those painted with brush. However, the thickness remains constant but the negative spaces are uneven giving the text an irregular feel. It is highly readable yet can’t be used for longer texts. Kamva has softer edges than the other digital counterparts, showing how chalk naturally deposits on a rough surface. It is only available in Medium (Normal) which can be a limiting factor to its usability.
