ae Al Hor

Rating
5/5

Ae Al Hor is a handwritten, rounded Arabic font with an untidy appearance. Created by Nadim Shaikli and introduced in October 2017, this font has an intricate design, like letters written by thick markers, with every character having a different size and shape. It was manufactured by Al-Amri and clearly is not inspired by any calligraphy script. This free-style font offers 476 letters and symbols and 456 glyphs, making it versatile and compatible with various design needs. Supported by Unicode blocks and multiple languages, it ensures consistency across different design platforms. However, the font is only available in a single font weight, affecting its practicality and diversity.
Considering the font’s look and feel, it does not involve design elements that would polish its appearance. Rather, its informal letterform grants it a natural writing-like look that is helpful in creative projects that need the flair of handwritten content. It has uneven spacing but a constant thickness and a solid stroke that gives it a strong presence. However, due to its untidy appearance, ae Al Hor is subjected to use only for short bursts of text, as it would be difficult to comprehend for longer text blocks. This limits its usage. Therefore, you can only use it to make creative posters, flyers, logos, and other design projects.
