Often regarded as the official font for writing Urdu language, Jameel Noori Nastaleeq is a must have Urdu font for any device using Urdu script. It was the first digital Urdu font created for computer screens in 1981 by Pakistani font designer and calligrapher Mirza Ahmad Jameel. It is available in two weights: one with regular Nastaleeq style and the other with Kasheeda enhanced Nastaleeq.

Due to its tall and vertical style, regular version Jameel Noori Nastaleeq is not suitable for short headings and cannot be fixed in horizontal shapes.
