Ibteda

Ibteda is a TrueType Arabic typeface designed by Syed Manzar Hasan Zaidi. This font is the property of Axis Softmedia Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai, India. The font includes an extensive character set that covers all of the letters, punctuations, and necessary symbols used in Arabic writing. It has a character set of 432 and 497 number of glyphs. It has support for Arabic, Latin, and Greek, making it a versatile and flexible font. This font also has an italic version which further adds to its appeal. The design of the font is quite peculiar. The letters are made of small interconnected filled circles, joined together like a chain. It has generous space between the letters and smooth curves. Furthermore, it is compatible with 11 Unicode blocks such as Basic Latin, Arabic, Greek and Coptic, Letterlike Symbols, and Currency Symbols among others. Even when zoomed in or printed in small ratios, it holds a high level of clarity. However, the font has very low practicality in digital media, such fonts are mostly seen in posters or children-related books and accessories.
