Raqami is a TrueType Arabic font crafted by a well-known Behance designer Mostafa El Abasiry. It is an unsual font with a very distinct pixel-like appearance and therefore, this type of font is also known as pixelated or block font. Such fonts also known as bitmap fonts, have a unique blocky, square-pixel look that brings back the memories of early computer graphics and video games age. Raqami has a limited character set of 221 letters and symbols with a glyph count of 180. Due its limited charset, its compatibility with other languages like Urdu might also be restricted. If we analyze its design elements, this font falls in the category of decorative font. Each character is bold and made up of small filled square pixels, creating a different “pointy” look. It can be difficult to read at small sizes or in complex designs due to pixelation. Therefore, it has very limited usability in literary writings, only preferred for design purposes needing retro gaming or tech-like looks. It is only available in regular font weight which further limits its use.
